Program Accreditations

The Shelton State Associate Degree and Practical Nursing Programs are approved by the Alabama Board of Nursing (ABN), RSA Plaza, 770 Washington Avenue, Suite 250, Montgomery, AL 36104, telephone 334.293.5200. The programs are located on the Martin Campus, Tuscaloosa, Alabama, and are also accredited by the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN), 3390 Peachtree Road NE, Suite 1400 Atlanta, GA, 30326. 404.975.5000. The most recent accreditation decision made by the ACEN Board of Commissioners for the associate degree nursing program is Continued Accreditation. The Shelton State Health Information Technology Program has received Initial Accreditation by the Commission on Accreditation for Health Informatics and Information Management Education (CAHIIM).  CAHIIM is located at 233 N. Michigan Ave, 21st Floor, Chicago, IL 60601-5800, 312.233.1134.

 

The Shelton State Respiratory Therapy Program holds continuing accreditation from the Commission on Accreditation for Respiratory Care (CoARC) (www.coarc.com). This status signifies that a program has demonstrated sufficient compliance with CoARC standards. It is recognized by the National Board of Respiratory Care (NBRC) toward eligibility to the Respiratory Care Credentialing Examination(s). CoARC is located at 264 Precision Blvd Telford, TN 37690.
