Shelton State Community College is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC) to award the Associate degree. The Health Information Management and Informatics accreditor of Shelton State Community College Health Information Technology Program is the Commission on Accreditation for Health Informatics and Information Management Education (CAHIIM). The College’s accreditation for the Associate degree in Health Information Management and Information Management has been affirmed through 2028. The Shelton State Respiratory Therapy Program is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation for Respiratory Care (CoARC) (www.coarc.com). The program has been placed on Probationary Accreditation as of November 3, 2023. Students graduating under the Probationary Accreditation status are considered graduates of CoARC accredited program. Additionally, successful completion of the program under Probationary Accreditation enables the student to become a CRT after completing the National Board for Respiratory Care exams.
