Psi Beta
Psi Beta is a national honor society for community college students interested in psychology and the application of psychology to real lives. It is recognized by the Association of College Honor Societies. Psi Beta participates with the American Psychological Association, the American Psychological Society, and actively contributes to regional psychology conventions.
Acceptance into Psi Beta provides students with opportunities to explore psychology and experience its role in the everyday lives of their community. Additionally, membership in the society creates opportunities for interaction with students, faculty, and other professionals outside the classroom, direct exposure to the practice of psychology in a variety of settings, acquiring leadership skills and experience, and participation in community service projects benefiting our local community.
Full-time or part-time students who have earned a 3.25 cumulative grade point average, have completed 12 semester hours in an associate’s degree program, and have earned a grade of B or higher in a psychology course are eligible for membership.
For more information, contact Amy Skinner or Matthew Kelley, chapter faculty advisors at askinner@sheltonstate.edu or mkelley@sheltonstate.edu, or visit Psi Beta.
