2018 WOW Career Expo

In cooperation with West Alabama Works, Shelton State Community College will host the fourth annual Worlds of Work (WOW) career expo on Thursday, October 11 and Friday, October 12. Visit Worlds of Work for more information on the event.

 

Parking options for the duration of the WOW event, including vendor setup beginning Tuesday, October 9, will differ from regular parking. On the Martin Campus, certain areas of the building and parking lots will be restricted. Employees, students, and visitors should be observant entering the Martin Campus and pay close attention to signs, cones, or engineering tape being used to indicate closed areas.

 

Parking is designated in the east parking lot between the theatre and the bookstore entrance (A1 – C2). (For special parking accommodations, contact Dean Tommy Taylor at ttaylor@sheltonstate.edu.) To enter the Martin Campus on the days of WOW, every employee must enter using Fire College Drive with a required WOW parking pass. The pass is 8.5″x 11″ and must be displayed in that size on the driver’s side dashboard. The pass does not have to printed in color.

Demopolis Higher Education Center
Wednesday, October 10 and Thursday, October 11, 2018
Classes will meet as scheduled.

 

Fredd Campus and Martin Campus
Wednesday, October 10, 2018
12:30 p.m. – SSCC student dismissal

 

Important Note: Evening classes beginning at 5:00 p.m. or later will meet according to schedule. Students on the Martin Campus should contact their instructors for location and parking information. All student services and campus offices will be closed for the duration of the WOW event.

 

Employees should maintain regular work schedules on Wednesday. On the Martin Campus, certain areas of the building and parking lots will be restricted. Please adjust your activity accordingly.

 

Thursday, October 11, 2018
No day classes or student activities will occur.
