Honors Convocation 2017 Awards

Applications must be submitted by 11:00 p.m. Sunday, March 5, 2017.

To be eligible for the Harold I. James Outstanding Technical Student Award, you should be a currently enrolled Shelton State student with 24 semester hours completed at Shelton State with a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or above.**  The Harold I. James Award is given to the Outstanding Shelton State Community College technical student. Winners will receive a 3 credit hour tuition waiver.

 
To be eligible for the Thomas E. Umphrey Outstanding Freshman Award, you should be a currently enrolled freshman with a minimum of 12 to a maximum of 31 semester hours completed at Shelton State and a cumulative GPA of 3.5 or above.**  The Outstanding Freshman Award is given to the Outstanding Shelton State Community College freshman. Winners will receive a 3 credit hour tuition waiver.

 
To be eligible for the Norman C. Cephus Special Achievement Award, you should be currently enrolled as a Shelton State Community College student enrolled in one of the technical programs.  You must have completed at least 12 semester hours at Shelton State with a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or above** in college level work. Winners will receive a 3 credit hour waiver.

 
To be eligible for the Leo Sumner Outstanding Sophomore Award, you must be a currently enrolled sophomore with 32 or more semester hours, with at least 15 semester hours completed at Shelton State.  A cumulative GPA of 3.5 or above is required.** The Leo Sumner Award is given to the Outstanding Shelton State Community College sophomore. Winners will receive a $500 honorarium.

 
To be eligible for the I. W. Mitchell Outstanding Technical Student Award, you should be a currently enrolled Shelton State Community College student enrolled in one of the technical programs.  You must have completed at least 12 semester hours at Shelton State with a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or above** in college level work. Winners will receive a 3 credit hour tuition waiver.
