Emily J Poole “I chose Shelton State because it’s a personal college and I made many connections with the faculty and staff. Shelton is special because students are able to have the attention they need from their teachers because of the small class sizes. I’ve never felt like I was lost in the shuffle.”	Tarmesha White “Hi, my name is Tarmesha White. I am a current student at Shelton State Community College where I major in Culinary Arts. Might I say that I receive the best education and learn great experiences from my instructors. My goals are to get my degree and become a chef on a cruise ship. I have to applaud my instructors at Shelton State because if it weren't for them, I wouldn't have made it this far. I will recommend anybody to come to Shelton State Community College.”	Lakeisha Martin "I decided to return to school to obtain my degree in the Office Administration field in the specialized area of Bookkeeping and Accounting. I have never been good when it comes to mathematical equations but have a knack for financial accounting. Since this is an area that I excel in, my natural choice is to obtain this degree to boost my own self esteem and further my professional career. I’m encouraged to not only obtain this degree but believe it has opened doors for me to go further. I’ve learned the importance of education and how it’s never too late to pursue my dreams and better myself."

Shelton has provided me with the opportunity that I needed to live out my educational goals that I have for myself. I am glad that I chose Shelton State to be the place where I further my education because I love the student to teacher ratio here. I feel that it is very personable and I'm engaged with the attention that I acquire. I feel that Shelton State has given me the boost that I needed to transfer to a four-year institution to get my degree in science education. I was enthusiastic about the Industrial Electronics Technology program. I can get hands on training prior to entering the workforce. I try to stay focused and strive to do everything to the best of my ability. I am pursuing a short-term certificate, a long-term certificate, and an Associate in Applied Science Degree in Industrial Electronics Technology.”
