PROGRAM DESCRIPTION
What is the program?
The Carpentry program is designed to provide students with the knowledge and practices used to become a skilled craftsman. The program includes courses in blueprint reading, site preparation, concrete forming, floor and wall framing, roofs, ceilings, interior and exterior finishing, estimating costs, and project management.
When is the program offered?
Courses are taught year round during the day and evening for full-time and part-time students to accommodate a wide range of schedules.
What awards does the program lead to and how long does it take?
Students may earn a Certificate. Students enrolled full-time may complete a Certificate in as little as three to four semesters (12 to 18 months).
What requirements do I need in order to enroll?
A student without a high school diploma or GED certificate is eligible to enter this program. Students without a high school diploma or GED and applying for financial aid must take the Ability-to-Benefit test prior to enrolling. What jobs will this program prepare me for?
Carpenter, construction worker, carpenter’s helper and supervisor.
