Summer Commencement Events Scheduled

Tuscaloosa, Alabama – Shelton State Community College will host commencement events on Thursday, August 4, and Friday, August 5. All events will be held in the Martin Campus Gymnasium.

Students Participate in Student Leadership Institute

Tuscaloosa, Alabama – Shelton State Community College students attended the annual Student Leadership Institute (SLI) on July 14 and 15. The training was held at the 4-H Camp in Columbiana, Alabama, and was sponsored by the Association of Deans of Students of Alabama.

Online Degree Available in Information Processing

Tuscaloosa, Alabama – Beginning in the fall 2016 semester, Shelton State Community College will offer its first online degree program in office administration with a concentration in information processing. The degree is offered entirely online and can be completed in two years or less.

Shywanda Moore Speaks at Girls Impact

Tuscaloosa, Alabama – Shywanda Moore, math instructor, served as a speaker/mentor for Girls IMPACT on Friday, July 1. Girls IMPACT is designed to build girls’ confidence in mathematics, increase awareness of STEM-related career paths, and establish mentoring relationships with women who are STEM professionals.

Respiratory Therapy Receives Continued Accreditation

Tuscaloosa, Alabama – At its June 2016 meeting, the Commission on Accreditation for Respiratory Care (CoARC) voted to confer continuing accreditation to the AAS Degree Entry into Respiratory Care Professional Practice Program at Shelton State Community College (SSCC).
