About periodicals and online databases available at Shelton State Community College

The Shelton State Libraries carry around 400 current periodicals (magazines, journals, and newspapers) in traditional print format and continues to maintain selected titles in microfilm backfiles.  All subscription and backfile information is included in the library catalog, where you can search by title or subject for details.

On the Martin Campus, newspapers are shelved near the circulation desk and periodicals are shelved under the windows.  Back issues are stored in the Periodicals Room beside the Copy Room.  All periodicals in all formats are shelved by title in alphabetical order.

On the Fredd Campus, newspapers are stored in a standing rack and current periodicals are stored in a circular floor stand.  No back issues are kept.

Online databases include information from magazines, journals, and newspapers.  Some of them have specific themes or topics (such as Business Source Premier, which focuses on business journals and topics, or Health Source:  Nursing, which focuses on nursing journals and topics).
