Music Students Compete at ALANATS

Tuscaloosa, Alabama – Shelton State Community College (SSCC) music students recently competed at the Alabama Chapter of the National Association of Teacher of Singing (ALANATS) auditions. Voice student from the state of Alabama attend ALANATS auditions for networking opportunities and adjudication. This year’s event was held on February 17 and 18.

Singers to Celebrate Black History Month

Tuscaloosa, Alabama – Shelton State Community College invites you to join the Shelton Singers on Sunday, February 26, 2017, at 3:00 p.m. for a concert of African American spirituals. The event, celebrating Black History Month, will be held at First United Methodist Church Tuscaloosa, 800 Greensboro Avenue.

2017 Health and Wellness Fair Scheduled

Tuscaloosa, Alabama – Shelton State Community College will host its annual Health and Wellness Fair on Tuesday, March 7 from 9:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. in the Atrium of the Martin Campus. Admission to the fair is free, and the event is open to the public. All are invited to attend this showcase of healthy living.

Coaches Reach Milestone Wins

Tuscaloosa, Alabama – As the Shelton State Community College athletic programs have added wins, their coaches have reached milestones. Women’s basketball coach, Madonna Thompson, and softball coach, Buddy Boyle, recently earned significant career wins.

Terrific Tuesday Concert to Host Samuel Nordlund

Tuscaloosa, Alabama – Shelton State Community College’s Terrific Tuesday Concert Series will host cellist Samuel Nordlund on Tuesday, February 21 at 1:00 p.m. in the Alabama Power Recital Hall on the Martin Campus. Admission is free and open to the public.

Theatre Tuscaloosa Announces the Paul and Susan Looney Legacy Endowment

TUSCALOOSA, AL – Theatre Tuscaloosa is launching a capital campaign to fund an endowment to support the organization’s artistic mission. The endowment is named the Paul and Susan Looney Legacy Endowment in recognition of the Looneys’ more than 35-year career with Theatre Tuscaloosa.
