Governor Kay Ivey Announces Nationally Recognized Manufacturing Credentials

BIRMINGHAM – Governor Kay Ivey, while speaking at the Southern Automotive Conference Friday, announced that the Alabama Community College System (ACCS), through a partnership with the Manufacturing Skills Standards Council (MSSC), will be offering nationally-recognized and industry-led credentials at every college this spring. This rollout makes Alabama the first state in the nation to offer the MSSC credentials statewide.

Alumni Association to Host Author Wayne Flynt

Tuscaloosa, Alabama – The Shelton State Alumni Association will host a book signing and reading with author Wayne Flynt and special guest Nancy Grisham Anderson. The event will be on Thursday, October 19, 2017, at 7:00 p.m. in the Bean-Brown Theatre on the Martin Campus. A reception sponsored by the Literacy Council of West Alabama will immediately follow the event.
