Second Annual Tuscaloosa Runs for Veterans on November 4

Tuscaloosa, Alabama – Campus Veterans Associations for Shelton State Community College and the University of Alabama’s Office of Military Affairs are partnering with the West Alabama Chamber of Commerce Veterans Affairs Committee to host the Second Annual Tuscaloosa Runs for Veterans on Saturday, November 4 at 8:00 a.m.

Governor Kay Ivey Announces Nationally Recognized Manufacturing Credentials

BIRMINGHAM – Governor Kay Ivey, while speaking at the Southern Automotive Conference Friday, announced that the Alabama Community College System (ACCS), through a partnership with the Manufacturing Skills Standards Council (MSSC), will be offering nationally-recognized and industry-led credentials at every college this spring. This rollout makes Alabama the first state in the nation to offer the MSSC credentials statewide.

Alumni Association to Host Author Wayne Flynt

Tuscaloosa, Alabama – The Shelton State Alumni Association will host a book signing and reading with author Wayne Flynt and special guest Nancy Grisham Anderson. The event will be on Thursday, October 19, 2017, at 7:00 p.m. in the Bean-Brown Theatre on the Martin Campus. A reception sponsored by the Literacy Council of West Alabama will immediately follow the event.

College Hosts Shelton's BEST Kickoff

Tuscaloosa, Alabama – Shelton State Community College hosted Shelton’s BEST (Boosting Engineering, Science, and Technology) Kickoff on Thursday, September 14. Students from twenty-two middle and high schools attended this year’s Kickoff event.

Terrific Tuesday Concert Series to Feature the Cavell Trio

Tuscaloosa, Alabama – Shelton State Community College’s Terrific Tuesday Concert Series will feature the Cavell Trio on Tuesday, September 26 at 1:00 p.m. in the Alabama Power Recital Hall on the Martin Campus. Admission is free and open to the public.

Bucs Café Set to Re-Open

Tuscaloosa, Alabama – Shelton State Community College’s Bucs Café is set to re-open on Wednesday, September 20, 2017, from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. The Café will be open each Wednesday on the C.A. Fredd Campus. The Bucs Café is open to the public and accepts cash payments only.

Theatre Tuscaloosa Executive Director Honored

Theatre Tuscaloosa's Executive Director, Tina Turley, was recently honored at Tarleton State University as part of the 25th Annual Alumni Academic Forum.
